How to Apply Calcium Magnesium Phosphate Fertilizer in Orchards and Tea Gardens?

Calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer and superphosphate are two commonly used phosphate fertilizers. In fact, in orchards and tea gardens with acidic soil, the application of calcium, magnesium, and phosphate fertilizers is more effective.

Advantages of applying calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer in orchards and tea gardens

  1. Calcium-magnesium-phosphate fertilizer can neutralize soil acidity. The calcium-magnesium-phosphate fertilizer contains 14%-18% phosphorus. It is an alkaline delayed-effect fertilizer. After being applied to the garden soil, it can neutralize the acidity of the garden soil. The pH of the orchard tea garden soil is very good.
  2. The fertilizer of calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer effect is good.
  3. Calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer is conducive to increasing production and improving quality. Because this phosphate fertilizer contains various nutrients such as phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, and silicon, it can promote fruit coloring, and early maturity, and improve resistance and storability. Increasing the content of catechin polyphenols and water extracts in tea is beneficial to improve the aroma and nourishment of tea, while calcium and magnesium elements can significantly increase the content of catechin, theanine, vitamin A and C in tea, especially on the acidic red-yellow loam, the application of calcium, magnesium and phosphate fertilizers has a more significant effect on increasing yield and improving quality.

Method of applying calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer in orchard and tea garden

Calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer should be used as base fertilizer and should be applied early in the seedling stage when used as a top dressing. Because calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer is an alkaline fertilizer, it should not be mixed with acidic fertilizers such as ammonium bicarbonate and ammonium chloride, otherwise, it will cause ammonia volatilization loss. Since it does not contain free acid, it can be used not only as base fertilizer but also as base fertilizer or top dressing.

When applied to orchards and tea gardens, it can be used as base fertilizer, and can also be topdressed. When applied, it can be mixed with organic fertilizer or composted with organic fertilizer and then applied. With the help of microorganisms, it can promote the dissolution of active ingredients in calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer and improve fertilizer efficiency.

When used as base fertilizer, it should be applied 2-3 months before planting or sowing, ditching, or digging for application, the depth of the ditch is 50-60 cm, and the bottom of the ditch is loosened by about 15 cm. Then apply the second layer, and then put it back into the mellow soil. The general application rate is about 50 kg per mu. When it is used as base fertilizer, it is generally applied after the orchard is harvested or the tea garden is stopped, and it should be applied in combination with winter plowing.

When applying top-dressing fertilizer, a small part of the annual dosage can be used as top-dressing when spring tea sprouts and fruit trees begin to grow.
